KWILS is a not-for-profit Community Legal Centre based in Katherine, Northern Territory, providing women in the Katherine region, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, access to free and professional legal services. In addition to this, we provide community legal education and undertake advocacy and law reform. We also provide outreach services to remote women in the Katherine region.

Community Legal Education

A core part of KWILS’ strategic objectives are to raise awareness of issues that have a gendered impact on women through specialist community legal education. To this end, KWILS works with other community service providers and organisations to provide them with information on women’s legal rights in a range of civil matters.

KWILS advocates for social justice outcomes that have a gendered impact on women through policy and law reform.
